If you make international phone calls, or would like to start making more, here is a service that offers free international phone calls to a wide variety of countries. There are no monthly fees and not even a sign up.
I haven’t tried it yet. It was recommended by the folks at Student Global Impact.

I just gave it a try. I called the Gateway Access Number with my cell phone and then entered the number for the Metropolitan Tabernacle Bookstore in London [when you go there, be sure to ring the bell because they normally keep the side door locked -- it's a lovely bookstore there in the grand old building on the corner of Elephant and Castle.].
My first attempt reported that all lines to the country were busy. My second attempt resulted in a 60 second wait for a free line but then connected me promptly. The uncommonly pleasant fellow (or that’s the way they sound I suppose) placed my order with no troubles (except they don’t accept American Express).
The sound quality was average.
Mind the gap.
Ah! I remember the Tabernacle bookstore and the fact that we had to ring the bell to be let in the side door. That seemed rather strange to me. Nevertheless, that trip was a memorable one. My husband and I are planning on going to Europe one day *hopefully soon*. I am very excited!
I enjoyed your site. Your mom directed me to it. Very inspirational.
God bless!
