On Tuesday, January 29th, we welcomed a new pilgrim, Knox Carter Boomershine, into our family. He was born twelve days overdue weighing 8 lbs. 15 oz. and measuring 21.5″ long in Kalamazoo, MI. The whole hospital and birth process was exceedingly routine and wonderful, and we are thanking God for His wonderful display of power, grace and mercy.
We have appreciated all of your wonderful emails and shows of encouragement. Karsten, Haddon and Lincoln are supremely pleased with their new brother, and, even though he had vowed it would be his first act upon meeting his new brother, Lincoln (2) has now decided on his own that he’s NOT going to punch Knox.
Chrissy and I remind ourselves frequently that these four boys are not ours. They are God’s, and He can do what He will with them. It is our responsibility to bend them toward Him and to teach them to trust and acknowledge Him in all their ways, to fear Him and to keep His commandments, to love Him with all of their heart, soul, mind and strength.
Boys take a lot of faith. As they grow, it is sometimes hard seeing how they will be useful to do Kingdom work. It’s difficult imagining how a little boy becomes a man of faith, integrity and honor. We know the process is one that is only done day by day, small step by small step. We are fully aware that YOU, our friends and family, are a part of the process. Thank you for your loving help and guidance of us.

Congratulations Ryan & Chrissy. May God richly bless you all … and may He grant Knox sleep-filled nights asap.
