It’s really impressive when the biography of a 9 year old, can be longer than 15 words and can extend past “she will be missed” stage. This tribute says more about her gumption and drive than what is able to be said of most adults.

Aspiring politician Christina-Taylor Green was born in the midst of tragedy on Sept. 11, 2001, and died Saturday morning while trying to meet Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords.

What a Poetry Marathon!

Of that forbidden tree, whose mortal taste

Brought death into the World, and all our woe,

With loss of Eden, till one greater Man

Restore us, and regain the blissful Seat,

Sing, Heavenly Muse… .”

St. Olaf’s college is one of several who are taking on the oral reading of Milton’s Paradise Lost. It’s an epic endeavor.

Locals! Nashville’s newest food cart is a a gooey mess called The Grilled Cheeserie. It’s hitting the streets this month with homemade soups and sandwiches. And if we’re lucky, they will offer us a discount if you get a tattoo of their joint. Wait, really?! What?

Yes, well that’s what all the fancy, uppity grilled cheese shops do. Read about the craziness that’s ensuing in Cleveland, OH. Perhaps you need an illustration of what fidelity is.

A new FB feature was just released that enables you to download all of your profile information (updates, lists, photos, videos, etc.) to store on your own computer. I like this in the history sense, that things from years ago are not lost. Others may like it for more manipulative or sinister reasons.

I’ve begun following the blog RickandSusanna, and I appreciate their missional approach to living, their “let’s move our family to NYC and live differently there” mindset.

Vittles

Sin Hoarders

Shannon parallels the A&E show to the situation of her [our] hearts. “But, the more I thought about it….the more I realized that I hoard my sin. I don’t let anyone see the clutter of my heart and the blackness of my sin. I have rotting sin that is so filthy and rancid, yet I don’t smell the nastiness of it. I hold it tight to my chest like it’s a treasure.”

“Ministry isn’t everything. Jesus is.”

Ray Ortlund writes about his father’s last hours.

State by State Abortion Rates and Totals

The numbers are from 2006. A lot more babies are killed every year in a sterile room than by earthquakes.

I feel like the butcher who backed into a grinder and got behind in all my work. TBAP has been too quiet (except some good baby name suggestions), and Ryan has been ill.

To inject some antidote, I give you a good old-fashioned hockey fight. Turn up the volume, grab a hot dog and soda, sit on the edge of your seat:
